Site Investigations

Definition of stratigraphy and geotechnical characterisation of the subsurface.

01

Boreholes and Direct Testing

We plan and carry out the investigations required to establish a reliable technical basis for site investigations. Field observations, direct and indirect testing, sampling and instrumented measurements are combined to define geometry, material properties and the governing processes. The results are documented in a traceable ground or site model for design and decision-making. Depending on the assignment, the work may use or refer to SPT.

02

In-Situ Testing and Geotechnical Monitoring

We define the parameters, instruments, measurement intervals and data workflows needed for effective site investigations. Measurements are checked, visualised and compared with project-specific alarm thresholds. Where required, automated notifications and a 24/7 on-call procedure provide rapid escalation and a documented basis for operational decisions. Depending on the assignment, the work may use or refer to GIS.

03

Remote Surveying and Applied Geophysics

This service combines field expertise, engineering analysis and clear technical documentation. For site investigations, GEOALPS defines the relevant questions, selects proportionate methods and converts the results into practical recommendations. The work is coordinated with clients, authorities and other designers from the initial assessment through implementation.

04

Geotechnical Ground Model and Consulting

We prepare independent technical assessments based on documented observations, calculations and applicable Swiss requirements. The conclusions are written so that clients, authorities, designers and legal advisers can understand the technical reasoning and its limitations. We can also support negotiations, administrative procedures, disputes and the implementation of agreed measures.
